There are many aspects of today’s forecourt that pose a problem for both consumers and station proprietors. Hazardous fumes, surface water contamination and fuel wastage are only a few to name. The onus for these compelling effects lies on one trivial event: the inadvertent spillages of residual fuel upon removal of the nozzle.
The amount dribbled may be trivial during an individual transaction, however the aggregate effect is tremendous. According to Aiden Feeney, Managing Director of Solark Ltd, 5 – 10 millilitres of fuel drips on the forecourts of the UK during every transaction. Extrapolated over some 29 million UK vehicles in 2001, annual wastage totals some 6.8 Million imperial gallons. Thus, from a wider environmental perspective, the cumulative wastage represents a notable issue.
Green Genie Fuel Saver
Solark’s response to this dilemma is the Green Genie Fuel Saver. This ingenious invention consists of an in-line secondary automatic shut-off valve, at or adjacent to the output end of a fuel dispenser delivery line. The design is configured to inhibit spillage and attendant wastage of residual fuel in a delivery nozzle downstream of a primary control/regulator valve.
The Green Genie fuel saver has confirmed in many tests to effectively inhibit dribbles during the refuelling process. In addition to its efficacy, the Green Genie Fuel Saver is inexpensive to manufacture, install and maintain. It is now hard for the petrol industry to deny their responsibility towards the environment and their consumers with the economically feasible Green Genie Fuel Saver.
